IATEFL-Hungary in cooperation with the Regional English Language Office (RELO) for Central and Southeastern Europe, based at U.S. Embassy Budapest is inviting teachers to their second SUMMER COURSE in Kiskunhalas.

Have you heard?  The summer course is an excellent training opportunity to learn about practical Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methods, motivating cross-curricular cooperation, developing ICT skills, focusing on American arts, and networking. We invite you to join upper primary and secondary school teachers from across the country for this exceptional professional opportunity!

Topic of the course: Learning about practical CLIL methods, motivating cross-curricular cooperation, developing ICT skills, focusing on American civilisation.


  • -     to give participants the chance to learn about the latest trends in teaching through art, museum pedagogy and a digital classtool (fakebook)

    -     to provide participants with teaching skills, techniques and knowledge they can implement in their own teaching contexts

    -     to provide participants with ready-made activities and enable them to create their own teaching materials

    -     to give participants a chance to build a network and start cooperation

    -     to give participants a chance to do an art project without any specific previous art education

Target audience: lower-primary, upper primary and secondary teachers, CLIL teachers or art teachers with a good command of English

Language of instruction: English

Course venue: Bibó István Gimnázium, Kiskunhalas

Accommodation: Csipke Hotel, Kiskunhalas, in 2-3 bedded rooms

Date: 15 - 18 July, 2014.

Course fee:: NONE! The course is completely free, including training, travel costs, accommodation and meals!


-  Litza Juhász, museum peadagogist at the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest

-  Ispánovity Márta: teacher, mentor, teacher trainee trainer, social competence expert. Teaches history at ELTE Radnóti (teacher trainee’s practice school).

-  Nagy Júlia: artist, art teacher, mentor, expert on mentoring talents, head of art specialization. Currently teaches at Váci Madách Imre Grammar School.

Programme: 9X90 minutes workshops, social programmes and networking opportunities. Participants work in groups, small groups and individually. The workshops also include micro-teaching and peer observation.

The participants will be chosen based on their teaching situation and motivation as described in this application form! Applicants will be informed about their acceptance to the course by 25th June. Please note that the participants chosen for the summer course should stay for the whole training.
